Hifumikan is situated in a village called Makino, in Takashima District, Shiga Prefecture, in the northwestern part of Lake Biwa. It is at the foot of Makino Ski Resort, which opened in the early Showa period from the Taisho era. It is near the tourist destinations of Makino Plateau and Metasequoia trees. It is in a scenic location where you can experience the beauty of nature that you cannot meet in the city.
